What is Prayer Poetry?
I started writing prayer poetry when my second kiddo was born prematurely and spent two weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I was sleep-deprived, my journey with Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism had just begun (though I wasn’t aware of it), and I was an absolute emotional mess. Somehow, when I reached for a pen and my journal, what came out wasn't my normal journaling but poetry.

I took the prayer poems I wrote in the hospital and compiled a little book of them for other NICU mamas because even in the hospital, I had the sense that God wanted me to share what I was learning from Him — mostly about dependence and trust. I took the verses that dear friends texted me and used those to preface the poems. Then, after leaving the hospital and later publishing that first bitty book, I kept writing prayers in poetry form. My journey goes on! See below for the devotional books that are currently available. Feel free to connect with me! I’d love to hear from you, especially what God is doing in your life. He wants us to share our walks with one another — He encourages us so much that way!
